It will be a day reckoning perhaps as Solicitors await on judgements that may leave them out in the cold. Following on from Dreamvar v Mishcon De Reya Solicitors (last year) are urging the Supreme Court to rule in favour of them receiving fees for their work in Personal Injury cases. You would think this already happens but it is not the case. (see lawgazette.co.uk)
Law Society President, Joe Egan, agrees, Solicitors should not bear financial loss after they have done the job they were set out to do. The Law Society has been allowed access to the Haven v Edmondson Solicitors Limited case which will eventually bring the matter to an end and will also ask to make an input into the Mishcon case. Hopefully, a fair and true judgment will be made where everyone receives what they deserve.
